Continuing the mission to uplift the women of Benue State, Mindsetseries International in collaboration with Jobberman Nigeria and sponsored by the Mastercard Foundation, successfully conducted another impactful week of free business literacy training from August 19th to 24th, 2024.
This initiative, aimed at empowering women aged 18-35, has already made significant strides in various local government areas, including Agatu, Gboko, Makurdi, and Konshisha, with more locations set to benefit in the coming weeks.
This past week, the training reached several key locations across Benue State, ensuring that as many women as possible had access to this life-changing opportunity. Among the notable venues were:
NKST Church, Bristow, Gboko
St. Anthony Catholic Church, Konshisha LGA
Benue Centre for Enterprise Development and Innovation, Makurdi
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Achusa, Makurdi
Nkanu Hall, Owerri Street, Makurdi
Passion of Christ Church, Akaajime in Gboko LGA
NKST Church, Akaajime, Gboko
Church of Christ in Nation, Ricemill Wadata, Makurdi
College of Nursing Sciences, Mkar, Gboko LGA
NAFOWA Little Angels School, Air Force Base, Makurdi
Government Model Secondary School, Makurdi
At each of these centers, women were provided with essential business skills, meticulously trained, and assessed to ensure they gained the necessary knowledge to drive their entrepreneurial ambitions forward.

Arc. Dr. Nguvan Kyenge, CEO of Mindset Series, shared a heartfelt reflection on the transformative impact of the training, particularly for women from suburban and rural areas.
Watching these women embrace the training with such passion and zeal, she remarked, “The passion, zeal, & eagerness these Benue women exude to learn and grow is palpable. For 95% of them, this is their first exposure to personal development training, and their desperation for knowledge is alarming.
They see this opportunity as a lifeline, a chance to break free from the limitations of their surroundings.”
She further pondered on the critical role that such interventions play in breaking the cycle of ignorance and limitation: “Who would have reached out to these thousands of women if not these interventions from the Mastercard Foundation?
Would they have remained groping in the dark? True transformation begins with the realization that things can be better if we change our approach to them.”

Reaching All Corners of Benue: The Training Continues
This week’s training also made a significant impact among the nursing community in Benue. Understanding how business works is crucial for nurses who aspire to own and manage medical outfits, and the training provided them with the necessary skills to do so.
The need for such interventions in Benue has been emphasized time and again, with many pointing to the lack of capacity, reception, handling, and management as barriers to success. However, the Mindset Series is determined to break this cycle.
As one of the trainers put it, “We will go all out by God’s grace to ensure we don’t let the people of Benue down. Excellent delivery is non-negotiable.”
